New medicine service

A structured follow up when you start a new long term medicine.

Who it is for

Patients newly prescribed a medicine for asthma, COPD, diabetes, blood pressure or blood thinning.

What happens at the appointment

  • A first conversation when the medicine is dispensed
  • A follow up call or visit at around two weeks
  • A final review at four weeks
  • Practical help with side effects and routines

Common questions

Why does this matter?

Most people who stop a new medicine do so in the first month. A short conversation early on prevents that.
